Yes, you need screen-screen!

Blue light also known as HEV (high energy visible light). While it is naturally occurring solar radiation, it is also the blue light emitted from our screens and LED lightbulbs.

The sun is more devious than one realizes. Solar radiation causes damage by generating Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). And SPF contains UV filters which are great at protecting you from UVA and UVB but they do nothing to prevent HEV triggered damage.

Turns out that the devil in the blue dress is causing as much inflammation in our skin as UVA and UVB combined and unfortunately, it hits the skin deeper, in our dermis where our beloved collagen lives. The best forms of protection are antioxidants that help to neutralize and mitigate those effects by supporting our skin. We like to call them Screen Screen: Sunscreen protects you from the sun, Screen Screen protects you from your screen! I personally bathe my skin in two different antioxidant serums twice a day and wear SPF daily. The first serum I use is Antioxidant Defense Complex. It’s packed full of antioxidants: six super fruits, white and green tea, astaxanthin, ergothioneine, garden sprout extracts, pear, hibiscus, assafoetida, sunflower and safflower oils, thermus thermophillus ferment and more. The second serum I swear by is the Vitamin C Reversal Serum from Circadia. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant. My preferred form is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. It’s very effective in lower doses and converts into L Ascorbic Acid inside the skin. (The human body never ceases to amaze me!)
